Because Everyone Deserves to Have a Comfortable Dental Experience

We understand that some patients may experience anxiety when faced with having dental treatments. Unfortunately, this anxiety can result in avoiding having the dental care that they need, leading to advanced dental disease, severe pain, and ultimately require additional dental treatments. Dr. Perry offers intravenous or oral sedation for patients who have anxiety or special needs, because we feel like every patient deserves to have a comfortable dental experience.

What is Intravenous sedation dentistry, and how can it help you?

Intravenous (or IV) sedation is an option for patients who have severe dental anxiety. When combined with the use of Cerec, Dr. Perry’s patients can relax and wake up with their dental treatment completed.

The patient is administered medication intravenously which induces a drowsy and relaxed feeling, enabling them to remain completely calm and sedated throughout the duration of their treatment. IV sedation offers an advantage over oral sedation because it allows Dr. Perry to monitor the amount of medication provided to the patient at any given moment. He will monitor your vitals and ensure that you are comfortable throughout the entire treatment process. We care about our patients, so due to the drowsy side effects of IV sedation, patients who have IV sedation must have a trusted friend or family member drive them to the dental office and return them home after their treatment.

Oral sedation and IV sedation are excellent methods of treatment for patients who have any of the following

  • Extensive Dental Needs
  • Dental Anxiety
  • Difficulty Getting Numb
  • Very Sensitive Teeth
  • Removal of Wisdom Teeth
  • Implant Placement/Full Mouth Rehabilitation
  • Special Needs

What is oral sedation, and how does it work?

Oral sedation makes use of a prescription medication that induces a relaxed, sleepy feeling, providing Dr. Perry’s patients a safe and effective way to alleviate anxiety and receive the dental treatment they need. Oral sedation is also an excellent method of treatment for patients who have an aversion to needles.

Due to the drowsy side effects of the medication, patients will need a trusted friend or family member to take them to their dental appointment and return them safely home.
